IWS is in the process of redeveloping BriteCore’s underlying framework in order to provide clients with optimal viewing experiences across a wider range of devices. As part of our ongoing commitment to keeping BriteCore’s underlying technology up-to-date, we're working with the open-source Knockout to revamp the way your site is displayed. Knockout allows us to build a viewing experience that works seamlessly across multiple screen types with BriteCore.

BriteCore Dashboard

Most of the new interface changes in BriteCore are subtle. However, the user experience will be enhanced in several ways. You and your staff can look forward to easier-to-read font sizes, color schemes optimized for the color blind, higher contrasts, and faster-loading graphics. These changes also cater to future support across a greater number of browsers such as IE10. IWS will be gradually incorporating this new look into every page in BriteCore over the course of the year.

View the example screen shot of the new BriteCore dashboard changes below. (Note: You many need to click on the image a couple of times in order to view it in actual size). You'll notice that the key points of navigation are still located in the top-right corner of the screen and new links to community tools reside in to the lower-left corner. This links take users directly to OOPS!, Utilities, the BriteWiki, Trac, and BriteIdeas.

Customizing the BriteCore Dashboard

Customized messages can be displayed directly on the BriteCore dashboard. This feature allows carriers to control the messaging that appears on the system’s home screen directly after a user logs in to BriteCore.

This functionality is also available for use in the BriteQuote Agent Portal and has been expanded to BriteCore in order to allow clients to further brand their sites and pass along pertinent information to users. The dashboard is a great place to post training videos, links to new procedures, company wide messages or announcements.

The Dashboards are separate and can display different messages. A default Welcome message will be displayed on BriteCore’s dashboard until it is customized by the carrier.

To Customize the Dashboard

Follow the instructions below to customize the BriteCore dashboard.

  1. Login in to BriteCore and go to Settings > System Wide > Login Information > Dashboard Text.
  2. Add plain text or html to the Dashboard Text open input area. Note: This text area will accept HTML formatting which allows clients to format text, pictures, links, etc to display on the # Dashboard. For useful HTML tutorials visit [1]
  3. Save your changes.
  4. Log in to BriteCore to review the customized message.
  5. Update message board as needed.

Agent Portal Dashboard

The Agent Portal dashboard mimics the new look of the main BriteCore screen. Agents can navigate to each module, include the quoting module, using the navigation icons located on the top-right of the screen. They can also access the carrier's website by clicking on the Primary Carrier's name located on the top-left corner of the screen. View the exmple image below for additional details. Note: You many need to click on the image a couple of times in order to view it in actual size.

Customizing the Agent Portal Welcome Box

One of the major features that accompany the new design of the Agent Portal dashboard is a customizable Welcome box (view image above). This box allows carriers to control the messaging displayed to agents directly after they log in. Carriers can use the Welcome board to conveniently post new company or product updates and announcements.

Instructions

  1. Go to BriteCore > Settings > Modules > BriteQuote > Agent Dashboard Text.
  2. Add plain text or html to the Agent Dashboard Text open input area.
  3. Save your changes.
  4. Log in to the Agent Portal to review the AP Welcome message.
  5. Update message board as needed.

Once you've added custom text to the html input area in BriteCore, the system will update the Welcome screen in the BriteQuote Agent/Agency Portal to display the custom message to agents. Note: You many need to click on the image a couple of times in order to view it in actual size.
