Jump to: navigation, search

We strive to keep our products above the industry standard so that your systems remain current and flexible. For that reason, we make continuous improvements to BriteCore's code base. We've been experimenting with a continuous release process, and we'll be shifting to this to better reflect our daily improvements. Rather than waiting for the all-clear of many items to go out in one weekly release, you'll receive continuous updates for code changes going out in the daily release. Items that require full release notes for this month can be found in this section of the BriteWiki.

Modifications to Effective Date Changes

Effective June 12, 2014

In an effort to improve balancing and data integrity, IWS has made updates to the restrictions surrounding changing the effective dates of a policy. Currently, BriteCore will allow users to change the effective date of a policy if no committed revisions exist after the policy's effective date revision.

Starting on Thursday, June 12th, if a committed revision exists on the policy, the effective date will no longer be editable. Instead IWS suggests that the policy be rewritten to a new policy. With the recent enhancements to the rewrite process, users are able to keep the same policy number on rewrite...read more

Note: If no committed revisions exist on a policy, users will still be able to edit the policy’s effective date.

Agent Link Added to Note Alerts

Funded by Great Lakes Mutual

IWS has added a new Agent link to email alerts automatically sent by BriteCore. These alerts can be set up using BriteCore’s Notes feature located in each Module by clicking the red exclamation point icon to make the note an alert. Note alerts can be set up to email a reminder on a future date or event.

Previously, the email that was sent for these alerts contained only a link to the Admin side of BriteCore. With this change, the email will also contain a link to the BriteQuote Agent Portal side. This will allow agents to click directly on the link and view the intended item. View the example email below.

Example Email:

To: iws@britecore.com
Subject: Alert for Policy 10-2011-111

Payment received for $100.00 on 6/1/2014. Paid through 9/1/2014.

Admin, please click here.
Agent, please click here.

Note: Users who do not have admin-level permissions will not be able to access the admin view of the alert, even if they click on the Admin link.

Upcoming Release: Updated Display for Underwriting Questions

Community-Wide BriteIdeas Change Request

IWS has improved the usability of printed Policy Applications to include appropriate spacing for answers that require additional explanation from the insured and to clearly indicate answers that have been electronically provided. This functionality is part of the community-wide BriteQuote > Improvements project and was requested by companies who wanted to enhance the usability and versatility of the Policy Application. See forum thread for details.

Currently, the Policy Application only shows the user’s answer to a question along with any explanation provided electronically. Beginning Wednesday, June 11, the Policy Application will display the phrase “If yes/no, explain” after all applicable questions and include all information provided by the user. In addition there will be areas on the printed application to further explain necessary answers outside of the system.

Below is an example of what BriteCore’s Underwriting Questions and answers currently look like on the printed Policy Application:

Improved Navigation

Funded by Bremen Mutual

IWS has improved the navigation in the Policies module by saving the scroll position when users switch between tabs. For example, if you’re viewing content on the policy’s Information tab and you click to navigate to the Property tab, BriteCore will keep the same screen position so that you don’t have to scroll down the page to view the policy’s Property information.

BC Navigation After.png

Previously, when users would switch tabs in BriteCore (e.g., from Information to Property), the screen would bounce back to the top of the Policies > Revisions page. With this change in place, users no longer have to scroll up or down when navigating between related tabs.

Photo Permissions in Claims

IWS has made two changes to the way BriteCore handles the upload of claim files in attachments. These changes have been made to help organize files and give carriers more control over what information is displayed in the agent portal.

1. Previously, when photos were uploaded to Claims > Attachments, the photos were also automatically being added to the Claims > Information > Photos. With this change, photos are no longer automatically added to Claims > Information > Photos when uploaded to Claims > Attachments… read more

2. In addition to this change, IWS will be updating client sites to remove any PDF files that had been incorrectly added to Claims > Information > Photos when uploaded to Claims > Attachments. These PDF files will still be in Claims > Attachments, but will no longer show in Claims > Information > Photos.
